PLEASE NOTE: Due to environmental concerns, I no longer create hydrofluoric acid etchings. I no longer have a safe way to dispose of the used acid. I am considering the idea of purchasing the necessary equipment to convert to sand-blasted etching (which would allow me to add shading), but finances are a bit tight. I now display the last copies of my art on the site simply for visitors' viewing enjoyment and to perhaps inspire you to create art of your own. - Phil

A nautilus planter made from clear, German Antique glass

Nosey Body

Your guess is as good as mine.
(It started out as an elephant.)

Most furniture shown here was made from scraps, leftover 2x2s, 2x4s, 2x6s, 2x12s and 4x4s, from when we replaced our old deck. Instead of using stain to darken the wood, the pieces were scored with a propane torch and then vacuumed clean to reveal the exposed grain in relief which was then coated with several layers of satin sheen polyurethane.
The following pictures will be replaced as soon as I take new, better pictures of the furniture, plus new ones will be added - approximately 17 pieces in all, so far).
